Van Helsing
Van Helsing is an action horror film with a great cast and heart pumping action. The movie is about a monster hunter who is called upon to rescue four young women who are being stalked by blood thristy creatures with an appetite for human flesh. The story line is entertaining, unique, and filled with twists and turns. A good balance of humor, drama, and action keeps the movie interesting from start to finish. The cast does a great job portraying their characters even though some of them are far-fetched.
The monsters were just as fun as the humans in this movie because they were cleverly put together with CGI effects which made them look more realistic than most monster movies out there. There were plenty of jump scares in the film that kept me on my toes and waiting for something to happen next. Van Helsing delivered what it promised: A good time at the movies!
The monster hunter Van Helsing is called upon to rescue four young women who are being stalked by bloodthirsty creatures with an appetite for human flesh. His job is made difficult because he must also destroy the monsters’ leader—a beautiful, intelligent woman who has the ability to control men’s minds.
This is a classic horror story set in 19th century Romania that combines gothic images of vampires with well-worn religious themes about the eternal struggle between good and evil. The movie was directed by Stephen Sommers, who is best known for his work on “The Mummy” (which starred Brendan Fraser) and “G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra” (which starred Nicholas Cage).
