ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN
Fans of the previous Spider-Man games will be happy to hear that Ultimate Spider-Man plays very similarly, with a couple of notable exceptions. For example, some web-slinging was done automatically in the previous games—now it’s performed manually, which is a nice change. The city has also been updated to reflect Marvel’s Ultimate Universe, so the streets are populated by more familiar faces from the comics. People who have read the comics will find much deeper storylines and alternate endings than usual in these games.
You can play both sides as Ultimate Spider-Man allows players to take on the role of Spider-Man AND a super-villain in an original storyline. Dive into an immersive adventure as you experience a living comic book—with cinematic presentation, movie-quality voice acting and a stellar soundtrack. The game even allows for two player cooperative gameplay for those who want to share their experience with friends.
Ultimate Spider-Man, released in 2005 and developed by Activision, was a great game for its time. It had all the things you’d expect from a Spider-Man game: web slinging, punching bad guys, and of course, an original storyline based on the comics. One of the biggest draws is that players can take on the role of Spider-Man AND a super villain in an original storyline.
Capturing the thrill of the Spider-Man movie experience is what Ultimate Spider-Man is all about, but it’s not just about taking on a super villain. Players are plunged into a living comic book as they switch between Peter Parker and Spider-Man in an adventure that ranges from the streets of New York to exciting locations around the globe.
