THE FANTASTIC ADVENTURES OF DIZZY
The Oliver Twins, Matthew and Andrew Oliver (and if you’re ever lucky enough to meet them in person, you’ll notice that they are often referred to as ‘The Olivers’), were the designers behind the Codemasters Dizzy series of games. They have restarted the series with a Kickstarter campaign for their newest game, The Fantastic Adventures of Dizzy. We had the opportunity to talk to them about this new adventure, and why they wanted to go back to the roots of classic gaming.
Hello, my name is Oliver! My friend and I have decided to reminisce about the Dizzy series of games for the Spectrum computer that we used to play when we were kids. The Dizzy series was created by a quirky pair of designers who call themselves The Oliver Twins. The games were wildly successful, so much so that they even got their own animated TV series on Teletoon! Can you believe it?
The Oliver twins, who worked on the Spectrum versions of the Dizzy series, are back with a new project: The Fantastic Adventures of Dizzy, which will be released on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch at the end of June.
Wow, remember when Dizzy games were the best things ever? I mean, I’m sure there are probably some people who would argue that point, but for fans of Spectrum computers like me, The Oliver Twins’ trilogy of Dizzy games was just about as good as it could have possibly been. That’s because it was made by Oliver Twins. You see, Oliver Twins didn’t just make Dizzy. They also made something called Sabre Wulf.
