STARSKY & HUTCH
Starsky & Hutch is a video game published in 2003 on Windows by Empire Interactive Entertainment, Vivendi Universal Games, Inc., Gotham Games. It’s a racing / driving game, set in a world that’s entirely made up of cars. The player gets to choose between playing as either of the two titular characters and can unlock several other characters as they progress. This game was both fun and frustrating to play through – I was able to see it through to the end, but I didn’t enjoy myself while doing so.
The gameplay is pretty simple: the player drives around in a car, picking up items that help them complete missions. Each mission has a time limit and usually entails stealing cars or following other cars around and shooting at them. There are also timed challenges where players can compete to beat their own times or try to beat the developer’s best times. There are lots of different kinds of missions and vehicles to drive (although some missions involve more than just driving), which makes for decent variety. However, the controls are very awkward, which makes playing this game really unpleasant at times; it feels stiff and unrealistic when you try to turn or move around corners quickly (which you’ll often have to do).
Starsky & Hutch, the action-filled driving game where players team up with the Starsky & Hutch duo to take down the bad guys. The game features seven different missions, each containing a set number of objectives that must be completed in order to advance. As the player progresses through the game, more and more weapons, vehicles, and power-ups become available for use.
