Restart the Earth

In this movie, a task force is sent to stop a new breed of sentient plants that grow at an exponential rate, taking over cities and eradicating human life on Earth. But before you start panicking and thinking of ways to defend yourself, this is actually a comedy action film.

You may have seen the trailers already but if not, the plot goes as follows: after a series of attacks on energy companies by people who claim they’re being oppressed by the government, scientist Dr. Kane (Kevin Durand) comes out of hiding to reveal that he’s discovered an extraterrestrial plant species capable of communicating with humans. He believes these plants are peaceful and have been trying to warn us about something big that could be coming our way.

The president decides the only way to find out for sure is to get the plants to talk more about it. He sends in a special forces unit led by Keyes (Jake Gyllenhaal) and his team, which consists of Aimes (Rinko Kikuchi), Doc (Rob Corddry), Rose (Saffron Burrows), and Morales (John Malkovich). They find more than they bargained for when they come across giant intelligent alien plants that start growing all over Earth, destroying buildings and towns in

The first part of the movie follows the protagonist, Jack, as he fights against the plants. After a brutal battle in which he loses many friends and relatives, he is captured and taken to their leader. He is saved by his new love interest and the two escape.
