MAZE WARS

Maze Wars is a decent 3D maze game that is by no means revolutionary, but deserves mention as one of the first 3D maze mouse-driven games that I quite like šŸ˜‰ The objective is simple: find the exit to the maze. However, there are obstacles in the way, and if you run into them, you die.

The game is controlled mainly with your mouse, although there is some keyboard support as well. You can click anywhere in the screen to move your player in that direction (there isn’t really any turning involved), or you can hold down shift and move your mouse to strafe. If you find an obstacle and need to turn, you can also use your arrow keys to do so.

The main game view is first-person, but if you hold down your middle mouse button and move your mouse around, it switches to a third-person view from behind your character. This gives you a good feel for how close walls are getting to you and lets you see things without having to peer around corners at all times.

It’s a pretty basic concept for a game, but Maze Wars manages to add some unique features that make it fun enough for me to keep coming back when I’m bored šŸ˜‰ Since it’s built on Direct3D

Maze Wars is a decent 3D maze game that is by no means revolutionary, but deserves mention as one of the first 3D maze mouse-driven games that I quite like šŸ˜‰ The objective is simple: find the exit to the maze while avoiding enemy robots. The level design and overall play of Maze Wars are not very sophisticated, but it’s still fun to play.
