These days, we’re used to seeing celebrities do awesome things with their money—from buying private islands to funding scholarships for their alma maters. However, there are plenty of everyday people who are using their resources to make a difference in the world. In this series, we meet people who have overcome tremendous adversity because Sylvester Stallone’s legendary Rocky films inspired them.

-Lenny Tawney was a troubled teen who began working at a local gym shortly after watching Rocky II in 1982.

-He loved the way Stallone portrayed an underdog who worked hard to achieve his dream and managed to help others along the way.

-Lenny decided he would become an accountant so he could help athletes with their finances, just like Sly did in Rocky IV

-Lenny Tawney is now one of the most successful accountants in the country for pro athletes and he has helped many of them save and invest wisely

Everyone knows that Rocky Balboa is an underdog, but did you know that he’s an inspiration to many people? A lot of people are inspired to do better because of Rocky. If we didn’t have Rocky, there would be a lot of people out on the streets right now. There are also people out there that have overcome tremendous adversity because they watched Rocky. Sylvester Stallone is a director and actor in his own right, and he has a great story to tell through his movies. I’ve seen all the Rocky movies several times, and I never get bored with them. They inspire me to work harder and never give up.
