Enamored

This story is a historical fiction set in the late 1800s. The main character and her father come to Michigan, where they quickly find that she is romantically involved with the man who is helping them settle in. However, he is married with three children, and their relationship is forbidden. But neither of them are willing to give up their love for each other. They face many obstacles, including his wife’s determination to keep them apart.

Throughout the book, I felt like I was there alongside the characters as they fell deeper in love and had to face so many different challenges. I couldn’t put the book down!

I think Enamored by Jody Hedlund is a really good book if you like romance, contemporary, or Christian books. It takes place in Minnesota and begins in a small town where the main character, Marielle, lives.

The story is about Marielle who moves to the big city of Minneapolis with her husband and son. There are different characters that she meets and they become close friends. They all have their own quirky personalities. A group of them get together every Saturday night to eat at an Ethiopian restaurant and discuss their week, etc. I would say this book is definitely a page-turner. It was hard for me to put it down! The ending is amazing and leaves you wanting more! From the first page to the last there isn’t a dull moment.
