Cyberduck is an open source file browser and transfer client for FTP, SFTP, WebDAV, Cloud Files, Google Docs and Amazon S3 storage accounts. It supports using a secure connection over SSH and creating new files on remote servers using templates. The application also includes a built-in text editor that can be used to edit files on the remote server.

Cyberduck is available for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux operating systems.

Cyberduck is an open source file browser and transfer client for FTP, SFTP, WebDAV, Cloud Files, Google Docs and Amazon S3 storage accounts. For a long time I was a fan of FireFTP, but it recently fell off my list of favorite applications because it no longer supports Amazon S3. Thankfully Cyberduck has stepped up to fill the void with its own version of an Amazon S3 plugin.

I’ve been using Cyberduck for a couple of months now and have to say I’m very impressed. It’s intuitive and easy to use, and it has some great features that make it stand out from other free file browsers. One feature that I really like is the ability to see just your working files within the file manager interface, rather than having all your files mixed in with the system files on your hard drive. This feature makes it very easy to clear out files that are no longer needed without accidentally deleting anything important.

Cyberduck also offers a lot of options for customizing how you work with your remote files, which I find very handy when dealing with files on Amazon S3 storage accounts.
