Crisis of the Middle Ages
Crisis of the Middle Ages is a turn based RPG for PC. Crisis of the Middle Ages is about a century old, but you wouldn’t know it by looking at it. The visuals are an homage to early JRPGs like Final Fantasy 4, and the gameplay has been updated to be more fast paced than older games like this. The story follows a group of knights who are trying to save the kingdom from evil forces that want nothing more than to cause mayhem. There are many side quests along the way, some of which will have you laughing out loud at the quirky humor that permeates every element of this game. If you’re looking for a retro turn based RPG with a twist, Crisis of the Middle Ages is just what you need!

If you want to play a game that’s lighthearted and funny, but with a story that doesn’t pander or resort to slapstick gags, then Crisis of the Middle Ages is for you. A retro role-playing game akin to classics like Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy, CoMA takes place in the Kingdom of Skartaria during the time period commonly referred to as the Middle Ages. There are elements of fantasy (and a bit of steampunk) present in the world, but it’s mostly grounded in reality – the King’s court is filled with nobles and knights, there are colonies across the sea ruled by a Spanish-inspired dynasty, and peasantry works hard day in and day out just to survive. This is not a setting where characters can get away with being one dimensional cliches, nor can they simply function as a vehicle for cheap humor.
