Becoming the G.O.A.T.: The Tom Brady Story
Tom Brady has had a long and storied career in the NFL. He is widely considered to be one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time and is even nicknamed “The G.O.A.T.”, or “Greatest Of All Time.” But he also has a reputation for being an intense competitor, both on and off the field, and is notoriously private about his personal life. So how did this man rise to become the most celebrated footballer in NFL history?
With seven Super Bowl rings—the most for any quarterback—and a legendary arm, Brady has achieved more than many of us could ever dream of in our lifetimes. And yet, this champion rose to the top from his friends, coaches, and teammates. From his early days as a young athlete to his first Super Bowl victory under the tutelage of Bill Belichick, Brady’s story is truly one for the ages.
Tom Brady could be the greatest quarterback of all time. However, most people would not know that if they were to walk into a bar and ask who the best quarterback is. That’s because Brady has spent his whole life proving his critics wrong—and he has done it with a smile on his face.
TOM BRADY: THE G.O.A.T.
Brady was born in California in 1977 to parents Galynn and Tom Brady Sr., both of whom were athletes at Michigan State University. The family moved to San Mateo, California when Brady was three years old and he began playing football at six years old, first as a goalie for the U-10 soccer team before switching to quarterback on the U-11 football team. His father coached him from ages 7 to 13 and helped instill in him some invaluable advice for his future career: “I think there are a lot of people out there that have incredible talent that don’t have the same opportunities or support systems,” said Brady Sr. “And I think you need to make sure you’re doing everything you can to make sure those people have an opportunity.”
