Here is the video game “Air Support”! Released in 1992 on Amiga, its still available and playable with some tinkering. Its an action, strategy and simulation game, set in a flight, real-time, sci-fi environment. You are the pilot of a transforming vehicle that can be transformed from a hovering fighter to a land vehicle at will.

One of my favorite games is called Air Support for the Amiga computer. It’s a simulation game where you control a helicopter and fly it around collecting money, shooting down enemy planes, and delivering supplies to your troops. Sounds easy, right? Well, it’s not! Here’s the video game trailer:

Air Support was released in 1992 for the Amiga computer. It was sold in boxed and floppy diskette versions. The game was designed by Dave Munsie and published by Microsmiths Software. According to MobyGames, Air Support received 4 out of 5 stars from Amiga magazines at the time of its release. You can still play Air Support today with the help of an emulator like WinUAE, but there are also downloadable versions available online like Abandonia (see link below).

Air Support is a game that may have been long-forgotten by most gamers, but it was one of my favorites growing up. It’s a fun, action-packed mix of strategy and flight-sim gameplay that serves as a nice antidote to the more serious tones of later military simulations.
