ADVANCED V.G.
Advanced V.G. (aka Super V.G., ) is a video game published in 1994 on TurboGrafx CD by Technical Group Laboratory, Inc.. Its an action game, set in an alternate future where humanity has lost the ability to reproduce and must combat the alien race responsible for their current predicament. It plays like most side-scrolling shooters where you look down at the action from a bird’s eye view and move your character with the directional pad while shooting at enemies with the fire button. The main gimmick of this game is that you can also teleport from one location to another at any time.
This makes for some interesting gameplay as you’re able to avoid attacks by teleporting behind things, such as enemy fire, or even escape from combat altogether if there are no more enemies in sight. There are also powerups scattered throughout each level and once collected, will upgrade your health meter, which slowly decreases over time, or your arm cannon’s shot power and speed.
Advanced V.G. (aka Super V.G.) is a video game published in 1994 on TurboGrafx CD by Technical Group Laboratory, Inc. It’s an action game, set in an alternate world where World War II never happened and the United States and Russia never engaged in a nuclear arms race. The name is a reference to the Vietnam War—literally “advanced Video Game” (as opposed to the “Vietnam Game”)—and the fact that the game was released just after the end of the Cold War, when fears of nuclear war were at their peak.
