Adelantado Trilogy: Book One
There is no better way to get the feeling of the Old World than with a game about South America. With Adelantado, you and your family can discover the secrets of the jungle together—and see what it’s like to be a true pioneer.
When you first play Adelantado, you’ll notice that it’s simple to learn. Each player has only two things to control: movement and trading. Movement is easy—you can move forward, backward, left, or right, as far as you like. Trading is also straightforward—just take one resource from a hex and give some other resource in return.
After enough movement and trading, you may find yourself in a village or on an island! Some villages have resources that can be bought for gold coin or sold for gold coin. When you visit an island, you might find yourself in battle with a Spanish war ship! The goal of the game is to gain enough fame and gold while avoiding attacks and hurricanes (there are ten cards that move the game along, each bringing disasters of different kinds). At the end of the game, your fame determines if you win or lose!
The most fascinating part of this game is its replayability: every time you play it will be
It’s easy to get caught up in the excitement of heading off into the wilderness and discovering a new world. It’s not so easy to keep your wits about you when disaster strikes! In Adelantado: The Early Years, you are a Spanish explorer in South America on the search for riches and glory. Your goal is to establish colonies and expand your knowledge while avoiding the dangers of the uncharted jungle.
