If you haven’t played Acid Tetris or want to try this puzzle video game, download it now for free! Published in 1998, Acid Tetris was an above-average falling block puzzle title in its time. The goal of the game is simple: fit the blocks into the lines that are already on the board. The catch is, each new row of blocks will have gaps in them where other blocks must be placed. This makes for some interesting scenarios, especially in later levels when entire rows of blocks must fit together perfectly or there won’t be enough room for all of them to fall. Acid Tetris is a game that doesn’t require much introduction. It’s a classic puzzle game we all know and love. It’s also the only game I’ve ever played in which the goal is to clear blocks off of the screen rather than add them. This is what makes Acid Tetris stand out from other falling block puzzle games, and it’s also why it was named after the chemical compound with a similar structure, acid.
