As a self-proclaimed party girl and a diehard lover of all things food and drink, I was surprised to find myself crying into my cocktail at a recent holiday party. As I sipped my drink and stared out the window of the restaurant, I realized how much I wanted to be home with my family instead of catching up with friends. I didn’t want to be there, surrounded by strangers and overpriced drinks. I wanted to be home with my children, drinking hot chocolate and cuddling in front of the fire.
In my mind, it was time to take stock of my life and get serious about becoming a better person. And what better way to do that than by reading a book about being holy? That’s exactly the idea behind A Sinless Season: 40 Days to Clean Living for People Who Want to Do More Than Just Try Harder by Damon Calcutt (author of The Christian Atheist). Calcutt’s book is about taking on a spiritual journey that includes self-reflection and practical steps for living a better life.
