Microsoft Remote Desktop is a tool that can be used to access desktops or virtual applications. Before Remote Desktop will work on your device, you must set up remote connections by following the directions in the Microsoft Remote Desktop app. The first time you use the app, you may need to wait for a few minutes while it prepares for use.

The Microsoft Remote Desktop app can be found in the Store for free. Once you have downloaded and installed the app, it will help you get started with remote access.

I have an old desktop computer, but I don't have a monitor, printer, or any other peripherals. My job requires me to work from home sometimes, but I can't do that without some way to access my files and edit them onscreen. So, I use the Microsoft Remote Desktop app. It lets you connect to a remote PC or virtual apps and desktops made available by your admin. The app helps you be productive no matter where you are. Here are some of the things it can do:

The app is easily accessible from your phone's start menu. Just type "Remote Desktop" and it will show up as one of the results with a tile that takes you straight to the app page in the Windows Store. From there, it will automatically download to your phone when you select it.

The app can connect only to PCs on your work network (so if you're not at work or school, this won't work for you). But if your company uses Azure Remote App, then connecting is easy: just enter the URL for an app from the list of available remote apps that show up in the app or pick an existing virtual desktop name from a list of those hosted by your admin. You don't need to sign into Windows before using this
