B-Hunter is a low-profile release developed by Danish-based Interactive Vision and published by UK-based Midas Interactive Entertainment, released in 2000. It’s an objective-based shooter that takes advantage of its futuristic setting to give players a lot of player freedom in terms of powerups and weapons.

It’s one of the most obscure and underrated cyberpunk shooters ever made, but if you’re looking for a fun game to play with friends or are just into old school shooters, this might be the one for you. I’ll go over some of the game’s finer points below.

B-Hunter is a low-profile release developed by Danish-based Interactive Vision and published by UK-based Midas Interactive Entertainment in 1999.

B-Hunter takes place in the year 2237, when the surface of Earth has become uninhabitable due to the effects of global warming and natural disasters, so humanity has relocated to huge floating cities. The game’s protagonist is a cybernetic bounty hunter who works for a government agency called Bounty Hunters Inc. He’s tasked with tracking down and killing cybernetic criminals, which have become rampant in this world (for some reason).

The game was created using the Build engine, a first-person shooter engine that dates back to 1993. This engine is best known for its use in Duke Nukem 3D (1996) and Shadow Warrior (1997), but it also powered Blood (1997), Heretic: Shadow of the Serpent Riders (1994), Hexen II (1995), Strife: Quest for the Sigil (1995) and others. B-Hunter was notable for being one of the last games released on CD-ROM as well as one of the most obscure shooters ever released.
