I.RULE
I.RULE is a roguelike game based on the mechanics of Ed and George Fan, authors of Basement Collection and Plants vs. Zombies. Its a roguelike because it is turn-based, each level has random generation, and it is difficult to play (you die easily). Its a tribute to the Fan brothers because of its art style, which is pixelated like Basement Collection and Plants vs. Zombies, and its game mechanics, which combine elements from both games.
I.RULE is a tribute to the Fan brothers, Ed and George, who are known for their work on the game Basement Collection and Plants vs. Zombies. In this project, I tried to create a crossover between these games in order to give fans of either a new way of playing a game they already love. The mechanics of both games and the story’s plot are meant to be as close to their original form as possible while still being original enough to stand out on its own.
I.RULE is a game I created for the recent the 7-Day Roguelike Challenge, a challenge that requires games to be playable in under seven days. I am a big fan of both Nintendo and Plants vs. Zombies, so I decided to combine the two in this game. The rules of the game are very simple: you have to survive for as long as you can against an onslaught of zombies coming at you from all sides. The longer you last, the more points you get. You play by using your mouse to drag your character around and use his attack on zombies or other players by clicking on them. The only way to get rid of zombies is to plant flowers on their head by clicking on them while they are stunned or after they die and become a tombstone.
